You quoted three people in that one quote so I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about or who you're talking to. So the universal rule given by math is "reset as soon as you reach cap", which we ammend with our observations about our current situation. This is going to be different for everyone and changing with time as we get more idols and better gear and hopefully less lag. Idols per hour value beginning to decrease before reaching the cap (which can be observed from direct measurement) is explained probably by to lag or DPS not being able to instakill anymore. Your experiences and notes are valuable and interesting and for them I read these threads, but as they won't invalidate math they are an addition to the corrent answer, not a replacement. We getting borred or not fitting whole runs in a day or wanting to run as far as we can are valid play modes but without any connection with optimum in idol farming, as OP requested. While it's true that the difference is minor, that doesn't mean that the optimum is at any other point than math is showing us. > Slot 20 instead of slot 16 would have only been 0.12 idols/hour difference. > Reset at 775 and idols/min was about 0.14 worse than 735 or 705. I hope you are not trolling but the words "reach level cap before slowing down" mean that crusaders are capped while still instakilling. Please explain how my data does not apply to OP's question? > Yes what does his first sentence have to do with anything? I answered his question to the point using my own data. > First sentence is "So now with the legendary it is easy to reach level cap before slowing down.". I would think that if you have 1-3 fewer, you would want to subtract those slots from these results. This is based on having all 23 crusader slots open though. Slot 20 instead of slot 16 would have only been 0.12 idols/hour difference. > slot 16 reaching 6000 is the sweet spot, though the difference between resetting here or after all crusaders are capped is very small I still think that's important to mention again, but I tracked the figures for my most recent run: > The thing not being mentioned is that you're probably not going to fit an extra 4-7+ hour run into the day by resetting each run a little early.assuming that you're even able (Usually, by the time I reset, I've been dead for an hour or so.) **TL DR** To get more idols / hour, reset as soon as you leveled the crusaders to the cap. We now see that DIS idols do not depend on the last area number, so we still want to reset as soon as we can. > idols per hour = 2.76 idols / average_time_per_area We observe that we have to multiply with number of areas then divide by the same number, so we simplify the formula: > idols per hour = 2.76 idols x areas / (average_time_per_area x area). We can write time as average_time_per_area x areas, so our little formula will be > idols per hour = 2.76 idols x areas / time. Also, 23 can be 20 and 250 can be 500 and 6k can be 5k, it doesn't matter if you have all crusaders or points in talents. We observe that first value (552 idols) doesn't depends on areas completed, so no matter how many areas we go after capping crusaders' levels, we get 552 idols, so for now we want to reset as soon as we can in order to get better idols per hour. All right, so we have idols from crusaders' levels (6,000 x 23 / 250 = 552) and from Deep Idol Scavenger talent (0.5% x 552 = 2.76) per every area completed.
